Curly Hair
Curly hair deserves expertise, patience, and joy.
At Bloom, we specialize in curls of every pattern and texture, from loose waves to tight coils. We don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach for cutting curls. Every head of hair is unique and deserves focused attention to detail. We value structure and wearability, allowing us to create a flawless shape on any hair type while understanding how texture influences styling and shaping choices. Whether you have straight hair or type 2, 3, or 4 curls, we have the perfect stylist for you.

Our Curl Experts
Our team is trained in multiple curl-cutting techniques and approaches curl care as both science and art. Each cut is customized to you, based on your hair's texture, density, and desired outcome.
Our stylists map your curls, cut them to suit your face shape and growth pattern, and give you a routine to keep the beautiful results going at home. We blend wet and dry cutting for greater control that leads to better results, and every service begins with a thorough consultation, so you feel comfortable and informed before we start.

Understanding your Curls
Your curls are unique, and no single chart can define them perfectly.
But understanding texture, density, and pattern helps guide better choices.
At Bloom, we help you learn:
Curl pattern
(2A–4C and beyond)
Your curl pattern (type 2, 3, or 4) is based on how curly your hair is and how it falls. You might even have multiple curl types on one head of hair. We tailor your cut to follow the needs of each curl type.
Density, porosity,
and moisture needs
Every curl is different. We’ll help you understand the qualities of your curls and what they need to stay hydrated, strong, and healthy.
Optimal product pairings
Whether you’re new to your curl routine or a curl expert, we’ll help you find products that keep your curls healthy and strong. But don’t worry—there’s never any pressure to buy.
The Most Common Curly Questions
How often should I get a curly haircut?
The ideal time between cuts is different for everyone, but in general, you should get a cut every 8-12 weeks. Waiting longer than 12 weeks can cause breakage and frizz.
What should I do before my appointment?
Come in with dry, detangled, natural hair. Extra time needed for detangling or preparing your hair might lead to an additional charge.
Do curly cuts work for waves?
Yes! Wavy hair is curly hair. We can help you shape and treat it so your natural waves thrive.
Can I get color the same day as a curly cut?
Absolutely! Our curly hair stylists and color specialists can guide you on the right color routines for your hair type to keep your hair healthy.

If you wear your hair curly or wavy most of the time, book a curly cut. If you typically wear your hair straight or blown out, book a haircut. All of our haircuts include education, and if you’re looking to learn new techniques or get product recommendations without a trim, we recommend booking a Curl Wash & Diffuse or Curl Wash & Go, depending on your texture.

For haircuts and curly cuts, please arrive with Day 1–2 hair so we can see your natural pattern at its best. For color services, arrive with clean hair (Day 1-2) and avoid heavy oils or products that may interfere with processing. If you have curly hair and are receiving dimensional color services like balayage or highlighting, arriving with your hair blown out can help save time and ensure seamless color placement.
