Payton Holbrook was a native New Yorker whose artistry, generosity, and presence left a lasting impact on the beauty industry and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Payton began his career over 20 years ago after graduating from the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. For more than 15 years, he worked as a session stylist and was a strong presence during Fashion Week, contributing both hair and makeup to runway shows, editorial work, television, and film. His work included collaborations with celebrities such as Oprah and was featured in publications including Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, L’Officiel, Vulkan, Selin Magazine, Avant Magazine, Oyster Magazine, and Flaunt Magazine. Payton was also recognized by Modern Salon Magazine online as a leader within the industry.
Throughout his career, Payton specialized in both cutting and coloring, with extensive training in Aveda and Wella. He was deeply committed to continuing education and consistently sought opportunities to refine his craft and stay current, attending industry events such as LBP’s Front Row, the What’s Next Awards, and Wella Trend Vision. As an Oribe Ambassador, and with deep knowledge of Davines and R+Co, Payton took pride in educating his guests and empowering them through thoughtful product selection and care.
Payton found a true home at Bloom, where his passion for artistry, education, and connection flourished. While he remained inspired by editorial work, his greatest joy came from making guests feel seen, confident, and beautiful. His warmth, creativity, and dedication will continue to be felt throughout Bloom and beyond.
Payton is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. His legacy lives on through his work, his mentorship, and the many lives he touched.
