Blooming!

Bloom was BLOOMING! Literally! As many of you know, our owner, Clarissa recently got hitched!

Over the past month you may have noticed bits and pieces of the wedding coming together, or perhaps taking over, the salon. Being the DIY enthusiast that she is flowers was just one endeavor on Clarissa's long list of do-it-yourself (and delegate to dedicated loved ones) projects.

After a slight floral catastrophe just two days before the wedding, all Clarissa's bridesmaids (myself included) and a few early arriving family members came together and transformed ourselves into florists and Bloom into a full functioning flower shop. For a good part of the day, and even into the wee hours of the eve before the Big Day, we made about 50 center pieces and 3 bouquets!

Among other handmade décor were paper flowers that you can now find gracing our window sill and scattered throughout the salon. Each one hand cut and glued. Clarissa and Bradley (the groom) saw the flowers on display in a paper store, fell in love and spent countless hours figuring out how to piece them together. We think they fit in with the salon quite nicely.

To add just one more floral craft into the mix, Clarissa took on the task of designing the hairpieces for each of the 8 bridesmaids and herself, and I helped sew them all together. Needless to say, we've had many craft days around here. We thought you might like a peek at what goes on in the salon once we've put down that gate!

Stay tuned for pictures from the Big Day. It was quite magical!
